SERVUSSell on Servus

Servus fees

Every order carries payment processing of 3.5% + 30¢. Marketplace orders also pay 10% commission. Orders from customers you bring yourself pay no commission at all.

There is no monthly fee, no listing fee, and nothing to pay before you sell anything.

How much do I pay for orders I get through the marketplace?

The commission rate on a marketplace order is 10% of the invoice, plus payment processing of 3.5% + 30¢. Both are deducted from the order, so on a $100 case you are paid $86.20 and there is nothing to pay separately.

There is no new customer fee. When a buyer discovers you on Servus for the first time, that first order is charged the same 10% as every order after it.

How much do I pay on orders from my Servus Direct customers?

You pay 0% commission on Servus Direct orders from customers you bring to Servus. Send existing or prospective customers your own store link, and if they place their first order with you through it, you pay no commission on their orders with you.

Direct orders still carry the same payment processing every order does, because Servus is the merchant of record and the card networks charge for moving the money: 3.5% + 30¢. On a $100 case that leaves you $96.20 – ten dollars more than the same case sold through the marketplace.

The 30¢ is charged once per order, not per product and not per supplier, because the order is a single charge however many suppliers are in the basket.

What counts as a Servus Direct customer?

A buyer is Direct with you when their first order with you came through your own store link. It is judged per relationship, so a buyer who already shops on Servus for someone else’s products can still become Direct with you – but a buyer who has already ordered from you here cannot become Direct through the link. If you were selling to them before Servus, see the next question.

What about customers I was already selling to before Servus?

If you were already selling to a buyer before their first order with you on Servus, that relationship is one you brought rather than one the marketplace made – so it belongs on the Direct lane at 0% commission, even though that buyer was already shopping here.

This one is not automatic, because nothing in Servus can see an invoice you wrote before that buyer arrived. Send us the accounts, with an invoice showing you sold to them before their first order with you here, and we grant Direct on the relationship once we have checked it.

It applies from your next order onwards. Orders already placed keep the rate that was recorded on them at checkout.

What does the commission cover?

Commission is what pays for running the marketplace: bringing buyers to your products, verifying that they are real businesses, getting you paid, and the ordering tools you and your customers use – your catalog, purchase orders, standing orders, and your payouts ledger.

Payment processing is charged separately, and on every order: a flat 3.5% + 30¢, whether your customer pays by card or by bank transfer.

Are there any other fees?

No. Commission and payment processing are the only two, and Direct orders pay just the processing. No monthly subscription, no listing fees, no fee to add products or users, and no charge for a customer signing up.

Delivery is separate and is not a Servus fee: where a supplier charges a delivery fee, it goes on the customer’s invoice and is paid to that supplier.

When does a rate change affect my orders?

Every order is settled at the rate that applied when it was placed. The rate is recorded on the order at checkout, so a later change never re-prices an order you have already shipped or already been paid for.
