Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Servus (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the website at tryservus.com and the products and services we offer through it. By using the Service you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
You give us:
- Account info: your email address, and (during checkout or profile capture) your business name, delivery address, and any delivery notes you choose to share with our drivers.
- Order info: the items you order, quantities, delivery dates, and any auto-order schedules.
- Payment info: we never see or store your full card number. Stripe collects and stores card details on our behalf; we store only the Stripe customer identifier and the last four digits used to display a payment method on file.
- Support messages: if you email support@tryservus.com we keep your message and our reply.
We collect automatically:
- Device and usage info: browser type, IP address, pages visited, referrer, and approximate location derived from your IP and any address you have entered. We use a random visitor identifier in a first-party cookie (
servus_vid) to count unique visitors without tying that count to your account. - Cookies: including a signed verified-email session cookie (
servus_verified_email, HttpOnly), a mirror cookie used by the storefront UI (catalog_email), an account-tier cookie (servus_account_type), a delivery-market cookie (servus_market), a "saw the welcome overlay" flag (servus_seen_how_it_works), and attribution markers for promos / partner share links / sales-rep referrals (servus_ref_code,servus_share_slug,servus_rep_slug). See “Cookies” below.
From other sources:
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile picture from Google. We do not get access to your contacts, calendar, or any other Google data.
- If a partner sent you to us via a share or referral link, we record that attribution so we can credit them and apply any associated promotion.
2. How we use information
- To create and maintain your account, sign you in, and keep you signed in.
- To fulfill orders, schedule deliveries, and process payments via Stripe.
- To send transactional email (sign-in links, order receipts, delivery notifications, support replies) via Resend.
- To operate features like Smart Order, auto-reorder, favorites, address autocomplete, and saved-card verification.
- To run our business: customer service, fraud prevention, measuring how the Service is used, improving the product, and complying with legal obligations.
- To send first-signup notifications to our team so we know a new customer joined.
- To run paid-ad attribution through the LinkedIn Insight Tag. You can opt out of LinkedIn ad personalization in your LinkedIn account settings.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Google (sign-in, Maps + Places address autocomplete), Vercel (hosting and analytics), LinkedIn (ad attribution). Each acts on our behalf under written contract and is bound to its own privacy and security obligations.
- Delivery providers — when we use a third-party courier to complete a delivery, they receive your name, delivery address, phone number, and any delivery notes so they can fulfill your order. They act on our behalf under contract and only for that purpose.
- Within Servus — including affiliated brands operated by Positive Food Co. for the purpose of running the same Service.
- Legal compliance — when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect our rights, or protect anyone's safety.
- Business transfers — if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies
We use first-party cookies to make the Service work. Strictly necessary cookies (sign-in session, market detection, cart state) cannot be disabled without breaking the Service. Functional cookies (welcome-overlay flag, favorites mirror) remember preferences. Analytics cookies count visitors and measure feature usage. The LinkedIn Insight Tag uses a third-party cookie for paid-ad attribution. You can clear cookies through your browser settings at any time; doing so will sign you out and reset your saved preferences.
5. Data retention
We keep your account profile, order history, and saved payment methods for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after to satisfy legal, accounting, and tax requirements. The sign-in session cookie expires one year after issue. Visitor-count records (servus_vid) are kept for up to one year and contain no personally identifying information by themselves.
6. Your choices
- Access, correct, or delete — email support@tryservus.com and we will help you access or correct your account info, or fully delete your account. After deletion, your orders, auto-orders, credit balance, referral state, and saved profile are wiped from our systems; saved card data is removed via Stripe.
- Sign-in method — you can switch between Google sign-in and email sign-in at any time. Both resolve to the same account identified by your email.
- Marketing email — we send only transactional email today. If we add marketing email later we will include an unsubscribe link.
- Browser controls — you can clear or block cookies, use private-browsing mode, or use a tracking-prevention extension. Some of these will impair the Service.
7. California residents
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) give you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, to request deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. The LinkedIn Insight Tag may constitute “sharing” under California law; to opt out, email support@tryservus.com with the subject “Do Not Share.” We do not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS in transit, HMAC-signed session cookies, single-use sign-in tokens with short expirations, and Stripe for card data so we never handle it ourselves. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is intended for adults purchasing on behalf of a business. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact support@tryservus.com and we will delete it.
10. International users
The Service is operated in the United States and intended for U.S. customers in our active delivery markets. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, give notice through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
